Your Pond expert ... Working with Ponds Since 1983

My goal is for you to have a beautiful low maintenance water feature in your yard. If you are building it yourself I stock all the supplies you might need and can walk you through the building process from choosing an appropriate site to stocking your pond with plants and fish. I also provide on-site consultation services as my schedule allows. If you want it built for you I can handle the process from design through completion. I also provide Spring and Fall maintenance for anyone needing it plus make emergency visits when needed for regular customers.

Now that Spring is here I am preparing to open for the season. I am open limited hours to sell fish, plants and supplies. While I realize it is not a terribly convenient schedule for some people the up-side is that you are always dealing with me directly. So my customers have the knowledge that they will be dealing with someone who can answer all their questions and deal directly with any problems they may encounter. Fish and plants should begin arriving (depending on the weather) in the next two weeks. However, I do not expect to be fully stocked until early May. Keep in mind, (in case you have not been reading any pond publications) there are serious disease problems involving koi in various places so it is possible that there will be trouble getting all the sizes and colors of koi I would like as I will be even more selective than usual this year. Also all my suppliers raised their prices this year in response to the health problems and increased demand as the pond hobby continues to grow in popularity. I should have prices posted within the next two weeks. Call if you have questions and please be sure to call if you are planning a trip here in order to be sure I am here. If you wish to be notified when fish arrive or are looking for a special fish you are welcome to call or email me. When fish arrive the most attractive ones usually go first so don't be shy, the early bird in this case catches the most beautiful fish.

As a precaution I do not sell fish immediately upon receiving them, you can however, reserve something that catches your eye. I urge you to also consider quarantining all new fish you purchase whether from myself or other vendors. There are several ways to do this which obviously is to protect the fish that are already established in your pond. While it may be hard to be patient it is well worth it, believe me I could tell you some horror stories!

Every Living Systems pond is an original design. No two ponds I have built have ever been the same. If you can imagine it I can probably build it. Obviously the two limiting factors are usually space and your pocketbook. Whether it's a pond, waterfall or stream or combination of these the ultimate goal of each project is for you to have an attractive, low maintenance water feature that is appropriate to your yard in size and design. And please note, they are low maintenance not no maintenance and will require a little of your time on anything from a weekly to monthly basis depending on size and type of equipment you choose.

Now if you're wondering if I'm just another one of the many guys jumping on the pond bandwagon, I'm not. I actually began selling pond fish and pond supplies about twenty years ago. Since that time I've been guiding people through the process of building and caring for ponds. When I started there weren't many pond specific products available. Now there are so many pond products out there it has become confusing separating the good ones from the bad. So remember, a pond is no different than anything else you'll get what you pay for, you can purchase junk or you can purchase quality and that goes for materials as well as expertise. I've been doing this longer than most and I'm still learning all the time.
